A GROUP of former schoolgirls from a class of 1956 were reunited at the weekend.
A total of 14 former women who attended the former South West Essex Technical School, on the site of what is nowWalthamstow Academy, met at the Stansted Hilton Hotel, near Bishop's Stortford, Hertfordshire.
The reunion was organised by Jackie Newton (nee Mansfield) and Christine Smith (nee Jackson).
Mrs Newton said: "The event was a great success with much news to catch up on.
" It is also hoped that for any similar event some SWETS ‘lost sheep’ can be found. "Some of the names which came up were Stephanie Lawton, Elizabeth Cox, Brenda Chapman, Frances Morley, Daphne Southgate, Pamela Cawley, Valerie Large and Sylvia Hicks."
