A public meeting has been called to explore the respite and care needs of people with complex and multiple disabilities living in and around Enfield.
The carers forum has been called by the National Society for Epilepsy (NSE), a leading charity specialising in providing care for people with high dependency needs including epilepsy and learning disability.
Hilary Binyon, assistant development director for the NSE, said: "Following extensive discussions within the borough, we believe there is a very real need for a respite care. We want to hear the views of people who are currently caring for people with such high dependency needs.
"These may be people who are caring for a family member, who are uncomplaining and without any respite for themselves. For them, a short break can be a lifeline providing they are assured their loved one is being well cared for and is safe and comfortable while they take a much needed break themselves."
The forum will take place at Community House, 311 Fore Street, Edmonton, at 7.30pm, on Wednesday, June 14.
