EXTRA police have been drafted in after two women were attacked.
Officers are linking the two attacks on the women which happened within 48 hours of each other in the same area of Ealing.
The first attack took place at about 11pm on Monday, August 9 when a 25-year-old woman was walking from South Ealing tube station to St Mary's Avenue, Ealing.
A man said hello to her but she carried on walking. She was then followed by the man who grabbed her from behind, covered her mouth, and dragged her to the ground.
The two struggled and the woman fought back. She hit her attacker and tried to grab at his face, but he bit her finger. She screamed and shouted, and the man ran off in an unknown direction. Within just two days of this attack a 20-year-old woman was also followed and grabbed from behind as she left South Ealing tube station.
She walked north along South Ealing Road and turned right into Warwick Road, by Thames Valley University. She noticed she was being followed as she passed St Mary's Church.
As she walked past the university the man grabbed her from behind with his right hand covering her mouth and left arm around her neck. He began to drag the victim towards the car park area.
She struggled enough for the suspect to release the hand covering her mouth and she began to scream. She continued to struggle and scream until she broke free and was able to run.
The man made off back towards St Mary's Road, while the woman ran to a nearby house.
The attacker is described as white, aged 18-20 and 5ft 6ins to 5ft 9ins tall.
During the first attack he was wearing a long white jumper with a navy collar and cuffs, navy tracksuit bottoms and white trainers.
During the second attack he was wearing a navy baseball cap, navy sweatshirt and blue jeans.
A spokesman for Ealing Police said: "We are treating these incidents very seriously.
"We are anxious to trace the offender and would ask anyone with information, no matter how insignificant it may appear, to contact us."
