BECKENHAM: Nursery worker on trial for alleged child cruelty

A NURSERY worker accused of cruelty to children is due to stand trial today (March 22).

Laura Pettitt, of Thayers Farm Road, Beckenham, denies 10 charges of assaulting, ill-treating and neglecting children at a nursery.

The charges relate to alleged incidents at a nursery between January 2006 and January last year.

Pettitt worked at the nursery from April 2000 and was responsible for looking after children aged from three months to one year.

The 26-year-old was originally due to go on trial at Croydon Crown Court on January 14 but the case was adjourned until today.
