Police have confirmed that a house fire in Watford was started deliberately.
Firefighters were called to an address in Stripling Way, at about 5.30am on Saturday morning when a fire was started by the front door.
Two people, a 46-year-old man and a 41 year-old woman, were treated at Watford General Hospital of the effects of smoke inhalation but later released.
PC Marius Edghill said: “This is a very seriously offence, although thankfully both of the occupants of the property were not seriously injured.
“We are appealing for anyone who saw any suspicious behaviour in the area at the time or has any other information to come forward.”
