Have your say on Chiltern building plan

RESIDENTS are being asked for their views on plans for nearly 3,000 new homes in the Chiltern district as a public consultation starts today.

Chiltern District Council has to identify areas that can be built on to provide 2,900 new dwellings in the area by 2026.

Some sites have already been earmarked for development – but the council wants to hear the public's views before it goes ahead.

Anger has been sparked in Chalfont St Peter, where the Holy Cross convent site could be built on.

Cllr Nick Rose, the council's cabinet member for planning, said last week the proposals were “not a done deal”.

The consultation will form the council's 'Core Strategy', which will then be put forward to the Government, which has told planners to find land for building work.

Questionnaires will be sent to every home in the Chiltern district area and residents can also take part in the survey online.
