UNCERTAINTY surrounds the future of a Loudwater gym that was suddenly closed - leaving users worried about losing their membership fees.
The weights and machines at The Fitness Studio on Treadaway Hill were due to be auctioned on Wednesday after the business ran into financial trouble.
But the owner, Gavin O'Brien, today told the Bucks Free Press that a gym member had made a last minute offer for all the equipment and now wanted to reopen the studio. He hopes they will honour existing membership agreements.
But Steve Conn, 50, is not convinced that he will be refunded after he paid £150 for a six-month membership in December.
He said: “We have to wait and see – this doesn't mean the gym is going to reopen.
“But it's good news. I hope the buyer does take on the gym and put some money into it because it's worn out.”
