AN ARSENAL footballer has been arrested in a Redbridge street after allegedly failing to stop when police flagged him down.
The Gunners' former Under-19s captain Jay Emmanuel-Thomas, who was driving a top-of-the-range Mercedes at the time - was arrested by officers in Windsor Road, Wanstead on Monday (February 4).
The highly rated midfielder - who made his debut for Arsenal's first team in the FA Cup this season - is also alleged to have had only a provisional licence on him at the time he was stopped.
The 19-year-old was charged with failing to stop and not driving in accordance with a licence.
He is set to appear at Redbridge magistrates on Friday, February 12.
