Two men posing as water board officers lied their way into a home in Ilford

POLICE are appealing for witnesses to an attempting burglary in which two men tricked their way into a resident's home by pretending to work for a water company.
Two men posing as water board officers gained entry to a house in Bernards Close in Ilford and attempted to steal property from inside on Wednesday January 27, between 6pm and 8pm.
Police confirm the men were both white and one is thought to have been carrying a toolbox.
