Man arrested for intent to supply cannabis

A MAN has been arrested for possession with intent to supply class B drugs after 15 bags of marijuana were found at an Enfield house.

Officers recovered the drugs in Lancaster Road, on Saturday, after they saw the man in a vehicle acting suspiciously.

He was seen getting out of a white Renault Megane and walking into an alleyway in Batley Road.

He then got back into the vehicle and drove it at speed, parking it at the other end of the alleyway.

When he got out of the vehicle, he spotted the police and ran towards some garages.

The officers chased him and searched the area, where they found a drawstring bag containing 15 small bags of the drug.

The man, aged 20, has been bailed pending further inquiries.

This guy is just supplying a demand that will always exist within society, and now he faces losing freedom for doing what is celebrated about the likes of Alan Sugar, or Richard Branson: making money. The alleged drug dealer will not be able to travel to certain countries for many years, but worse he will be denied the ability to do certain jobs in the UK, just because of a drugs arrest.

This is oppressive behaviour by the government, something that was fought against by tens of thousands of men of the accused's age in WWII, is disgusting.

Freedom means the freedom for people to endanger themselves if they want. If people want to take drugs, so what? This guy would have just been trying to make a living, and the drugs trade is artificially profitable due to the illegality of some drugs.

Drugs need to be legalised, and it will reduce the potential harm they can cause. People will be able to get accurate information about the effects of drugs, rather than just "reefer madness" style propaganda. The supply of drugs to children can be prevented, and penalised (like with alcohol, gas, etc.). And once legal, drug supply and sale can be taxed, providing revenue that can pay for the inevitable problems of addiction (that occur now anyway, even when some drugs are illegal).
