A COUNCILLOR has been suspended from the Conservative party for three months after being cautioned for common assault last year.
Wycombe District Councillor Sarah Marshall's fate was decided by the Aylesbury Conservative Association on Wednesday night after they carried out a review into the case.
She will now stand as an independent councillor for the next three months.
A statement from the Aylesbury Conservative Association said: βIt was concluded that the nature of the disciplinary was of such significance that it was the recommendation of the Executive that the member be suspended for a period of three months, and this was adopted with immediate effect.β
Cllr Marshall who is the Stokenchurch and Radnage councillor was cautioned for common assault following an incident at the Royal British Legion in High Wycombe in October.
Wycombe District Council said she will remain on the council as a non-aligned member.
