A NEW dementia support centre is set to open later this month.

The Bromley Mind charity will open its fourth MindCare centre as the new St Paul’s Wood centre in Giggs Hill, St Paul’s Cray.

The centre will help those suffering from Alzheimer's and other forms of dementia.

Bromley Primary Care Trust estimates 1,000 new cases of dementia will be diagnosed in the borough each year.

The centres help maintain physical health and offer activities to aid memory.

A Bromley Mind spokesman said: “Help is at hand for people struggling to cope with the care of a loved one with dementia.”

Applications are now being taken for the new centre and anyone interested should contact Anne Diamond on 020 8663 0499.
