BORIS Johnson has announced a plan to make electric cars a feature of everyday life in the capital.

Speaking at the Copenhagen climate summit last week, the Mayor of London said he wanted to set up a network of electric charge points in London.

By 2015 he wants 22,500 charge points at workplaces, with 500 on street and 2,000 in public car parks.

His vision is to make London the electric capital of Europe.
