Onside project from Watford Football Club scores with £20,000 donation from Barratt North London

A project for young people run by Watford Football Club has received a £20,000 donation.

Barratt North London presented the money to Watford's Community Sports and Education Trust during half-time of the Hornets' 3-0 win against Scunthorpe United on Saturday.

The money will support the club's Onside scheme, which runs in Watford, Three Rivers, Dacorum and St Albans and has seen more than 1,000 young people take part.

Glyn Hopping, managing director for Barratt North London, said: “Barratt North London is proud to sponsor the Onside Project and support a charity that does so much good in areas where we build new homes.

“The trust is a hugely worthwhile project which plays such an important role to so many youngsters throughout Hertfordshire. Through sponsorship like ours, we hope that the charity will continue to grow and see more children getting involved and making the most of the activity programmes available to them locally.”

The Onside project, which was launched in July 2008, offers teenagers the chance to take part in sport and activities including street dance, DJ workshops, graffiti design, and fashion/jewellery design.
