BOREHAMWOOD residents can feel the heat when new vehicles seek out escaping warmth from homes in late November and December.
Hertsmere Borough Council, with the Energy Saving Partnership, will assess homes to discover what insulation advice they can offer.
Approximately 4,000 free surveys will be conducted offering tips on how to save money and reduce carbon footprints.
The heat-seeking vehicles will operate at night when it’s coldest in order to provide the best thermal scans.
Keith Hewitson, partnership director, said: “The Heatseekers thermal imaging vehicle has already created quite a buzz in the sector and we are delighted to see it in action.”
Grant funding is available to all homeowners to greatly reduce the cost of installing extra insulation.
Insulation company Mark Group have been pulled in to work alongside the project and carry out any necessary installations.
Contact the Herts and Essex Energy Partnership on 0800 980 6026 for a free insulation survey.
