Police arrested five people this afternoon (November 18) after a bank robbery in Beckenham.
Police closed Manor Road near Beckenham High Street after the robbery and witnesses reported seeing plain clothes officers swoop after the Natwest bank in the high street was robbed.
The Met police have confirmed five people were arrested by Flying Squad officers based at Tower Bridge after a raid at the bank.
All five men are in custody at various police stations this evening.
The robbery took place at 2pm and local police say they were alerted to the incident when someone at the bank triggered an alarm.
It is understood several suspects may have been caught as they left the scene.
