A Morden fighter has been forced to put his Southern Area Lightweight title defence on hold - but is not complaining.
Lee Cook was due to face Ben Murphy in London on November 20 on a bill that was cancelled this week and rescheduled for December 11.
But the enforced break has given Cook time to catch up on his other responsibilities - namely eight-week old son George.
Cook said: “He is a really good kid - he seems to be smiling all the time and he hardly makes any noise.”
The 28-year-old has taken a training time-out in order to replicate the routine that has brought him success in the past.
Cook, who was inspired to pull on the gloves thanks to the boxing pedigree of both his father and brothers, said: “If George want to box when he grows up I will not stand in his way but I would much prefer him do something like football.
“That is a lot safer, and he could probably make more money.”
