POLICE are appealing for information after an armed robbery at a fast-food restaurant.
Just before midnight on Sunday a man carrying a small handgun and a man carrying a large knife held up the KFC in Valley Drive, Gravesend.
They walked into the restaurant through the back door after it had closed for business and threatened staff, ordering them to hand over cash just removed from the tills, before leaving with the money.
The man with the handgun is described as white, in his 20s, tall, and had concealed his face by wearing a hood and a scarf wrapped around his mouth.
He was wearing a dark jacket and trousers, light trainers and black knitted gloves.
The man with the knife, which was commando-style with a serrated edge, is described as white, in his 20s, around 5ft 10in tall, and had concealed his face by wearing his hood up and a Burberry scarf around his mouth.
He was wearing a dark blue hooded top and dark blue shiny tracksuit trousers.
Investigating officer, Detective Inspector Ian Dampier from Kent police’s north Kent area crime unit, said: “It is unclear whether the robbers made off on foot or to a waiting car.
“If anyone saw them make their escape I would urge them to get in touch.
“Luckily no-one was hurt but the whole experience was still very distressing for those staff in the shop at the time.”
To help police with their inquiries, call DI Dampier on 01474 366091 or Kent Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555111.
