DARTFORD: Nursing home staff raise money in memory of colleague

STAFF at a nursing home held a charity fundraiser in memory of a colleague who died of breast cancer aged just 40.

Priory Mews Nursing Home in Watling Street, Dartford, raised around £250 for Breast Cancer Campaign when staff donated money for wearing pink for the day.

Around 170 of the home’s residents were joined by 15 children from Springfield Lodge Day Nursery in Powder Mill Lane, Dartford, to join in the fun.

Activities services manager at the home, Chriss Monks, said: “We decided to raise money for Breast Cancer Campaign because we lost our colleague, Adrien Budai, to breast cancer in March.

“She was Hungarian and she went back to Hungary when she became ill and died there, so we wanted to do something here to mourn and honour her.”
