A HOTSPOT for vandalism and anti-social youths in Beaconsfield has been targeted by police.

Residents living in and around Malthouse Square in the Old Town say they have been given a torrid time by groups of youths that get drunk, cause noise till the early hours and vandalise property.

PCSO Vijay Desai has stepped up patrols in the square and encouraged residents to report incidences. He said some of the offenders have already been identified and received sanctions.

The playground in the square was badly vandalised in April when 16 plaques were ripped out. The plaques recognised families who donated money for a revamp of the playground last year.

People living nearby had raised £33,000 to pay for a new woodland trail.

PCSO Desai urges residents to report incidences by calling 0845 8 505 505. Calls are then logged which allows police to measure the extent of the problem.
