A WOMAN found dead in a Chesham street in the early hours of Saturday morning has today been named.
She has been formally identified as 53-year-old Marilyn Bowden of Brockhurst Road, Chesham.
Mrs Bowden's body was found by a passer-by at the entrance to the Mead Business Centre in Berkhampstead Road, just hours after she had been released from police custody.
Her death, which is being treated as unexplained, has been referred to the Independent Police Complaints Commission because of this.
Supt George Wrigley from Thames Valley Police said: “An investigation into the circumstances of Marilyn Bowden’s death is ongoing.
“Her death is being treated as unexplained and a report has been sent to HM Coroner for Buckinghamshire, who will, in due course, determine the circumstances surrounding the death during an inquest.”
The cause of death was given as asphyxia following a post mortem this morning.
