COPS investigating an attempted robbery when a toddler was punched in the head have arrested two teenage girls.
Police began investigating after a mother, 23, and her two-year-old daughter were out shopping in Preston Road, Wembley when they were attacked in the street.
They were approached by two people who demanded money from them, growing more aggressive before punching the mother in the arm and slapping the child across the head.
Although nothing was stolen in the attack, on Tuesday, November 3, officers appealed for help catching the culprits and today arrested two 17-year-old girls.
They are currently being questioned at a west London police station on suspicion of carrying out the attack.
Detective Inspector Rebecca Reeves, from Brent Police, who is leading the investigation, continues to appeal for witnesses to come forward, calling 07917 067 281 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
