Wimbledon Halfhide Jewellers raided again

Sledgehammer and axe-wielding thieves have attempted yet another break-in at a Wimbledon jewellers.
Halfhide Jewellers on Wimbledon Hill Road, which has been targeted by burglars three times in the past year, was hit again at about 11.20am this morning.
Burglars smashed the windows of the store with a sledgehammer and axe, but fled after being challenged by shop staff.
The three escaped in a black Volvo, which was found abandoned nearby, but have not been caught by the police.
No goods were taken and no one was hurt during the raid.
Earlier this year thieves broke in through the roof of the building in a daring heist.
Merton police are investigating today’s break-in, and ask anyone with information to call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
