Nine arrests and dangerous dog seized in Tottenham Green raids

NINE people were arrested and two dogs were seized during two days of drug raids in Tottenham.

Officers from Tottenham Green Safer Neighbourhoods team led a drug search warrant at a café in Seven Sisters Road on October 29.

They found a large bag containing cash and more than 50 small bags of what was believed to be cannabis.

Inside the café officers discovered four small wraps containing suspected crack cocaine.

A dog was taken away by RSPCA officers, who attended the raid, for welfare reasons, and another was seized on suspicion of being a pit bull, which are banned in the UK under the Dangerous Dogs Act.

Six males, aged between 17 and 25, were arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply class A and B drugs, money laundering and obstruction of a drug search.

The following day the team visited a flat in Seaford Road, Tottenham.

Officers found what was believed to be cannabis, crack cocaine and ammunition.

Three men were arrested on suspicion of possession of crack cocaine and cannabis with intent to supply.

They were also arrested on suspicion of possession of ammunition for a firearm without a certificate.

The raids were conducted in response to complaints from neighbours.

Sergeant Lee Hobbs, of Tottenham Green Safer Neighbourhoods team, said: “I hope this reassures the community we act on information we receive.”

All nine suspects have been bailed to return at a later date.
