A KITE-FLYING festival, due to take place today on Nomansland Common, Wheathampstead, has been cancelled because of heavy rain.
Dozens of participants were due to test-fly kites made during a special half-term workshop, held at London Colney Library on Friday.
But hours of heavy rain and forecast high winds have forced the cancellation of the event.
Organisers St Albans District Council and Leisure Connection will announce a revised date for the event in the coming days.
Chris Blanch, from Leisure Connection, said this morning: “It’s a real shame but there was no way the event could go ahead today. We will announce a new date shortly.”
