A BAG with a small amount of cash was stolen from a car in Shenley last Sunday.
The incident happened at 12.20pm in Woodhall Lane, Shenley, when a man motioned a woman to get out of her car.
She refused and he opened the car door to take the bag from the front passenger seat. He then made off with the bag, which contained a small amount of cash.
The man was described as white, aged between 20 and 25-years-old, around 5ft 7in tall, with dark brown hair and wearing light coloured trousers.
DC Paul Spencer said: “Although this incident took place in a quiet street I would ask anyone who believes they saw this man acting suspiciously in the area around the time of the offence to call police.
“We’ve had a few similar incidents in other areas of the county recently and I would ask people to lock their car doors when driving in their cars and keep bags and valuables out of view."
Anyone with any information can contact police on the non emergency number on 0845 3300222, quoting crime reference number J1/09/4379.
