A MAN has been arrested for growing cannabis in an Enfield flat.
The 49-year-old was picked up by officers from Southbury Safer Neighbourhoods Team (SNT) on Wednesday for cultivating the Class C drug at an address in Downs Road.
Acting from a neighbour's tip-off, officers arrested the man after they found 56 cannabis plants in two of the rooms, along with electrical equipment to cultivate the plants.
The man was arrested at the scene for cultivation of cannabis and abstraction of electricity.
He has been bailed until January 5, 2010, pending further inquires.
Sergeant Stuart Gill, from Southbury SNT, said: "The male in question had set up a small factory in his home growing cannabis. In addition, the electricity meter had been altered and was a danger to himself and his neighbours.
"I hope the residents of Southbury ward feel reassured we have executed a warrant at the address and have for now put a stop to this criminal enterprise.”
