A COOKHAM DEAN church was ablaze with autumn colours when a flower festival brightened up its pews.

More than £3,000 was raised by St John the Baptist church during the festival two weeks ago.

The money can now be used to repair cracks in the church walls.

Cookham Dean primary school, church members and Bourne End Flower Arrangement Society were all involved and coordinator Brenda Copas said it was a huge success.

She said: "It was our first autumn festival and the whole church was ablaze with colours.
