ANN Widdecombe MP gave her support to the South Bucks Hospice last week when she attended its charity lunch.
It was part of the hospice's campaign to raise funds for its Lymphoedema Clinic in Hazlemere, which is run in tandem with the hospice in High Wycombe.
The outspoken politician is also a novelist, and she signed copies of her books before joining 140 guests for lunch at the Harewood Downs Golf Club in Amersham. She then gave an entertaining speech about her life as an MP.
"We were very privileged to have Ann Widdecombe attend our annual charity lunch, which helped us raise over £2,500,” said Ruth Pettitt, appeals manager at South Bucks Hospice. "Ann was very passionate about the hospice movement and stressed how important it was to continue to support this very good charity."
The South Bucks Hospice supports patients with cancer and other life limiting illnesses, and needs to raise £750,000 a year with only 10 per cent coming from the Government. To find out more go to www.sbh.org.uk or call 01494 537775.
