GETTING to Heathrow Airport from the Chiltern district has become a whole lot easier thanks to a new bus service that launches today.

An hourly service from Chesham to Heathrow run by Carousel Buses will take its first passengers on the new A30 service.

Calling at Amersham, the Chalfonts, Gerrards Cross, Denham and Uxbridge, it has been launched in conjunction with Transport for Buckinghamshire.

Another new service, which will run alongside the existing A40 from High Wycombe to Uxbridge, also starts today. The 740 route will mean there is now a half hourly service between the two towns.

Carousel Buses Managing Director Steve Burns said: “We’re really excited about the launch of these routes. We believe they are ideal for passengers whether travelling to work, on a shopping trip or off to catch a plane.”

Bucks County Council Cabinet member for Transport, Valerie Letheren, said: “Carousel Buses already provide a first class service to passengers with the A40 and the increase in journeys will enhance this service further.

“The A30 will be welcome addition improving the level of service in Amersham and Chesham. “Transport for Buckinghamshire will continue to work with bus companies to promote and improve services.”
