BECKENHAM: New yoga centre hopes to help youngsters

A YOGA company is hoping to help youngsters in the area.

Breeze Yoga plans to send its teachers into schools to teach them yoga to help to improve their well-being.

The company has also set up a project called Champions of Youth.

This will see 10 business people from the area going into schools to talk to children aged between 10 and 18 to encourage them to achieve their best.

It has also chosen to support children’s charity Demelza, and will give treatments to some of the families, including meditiation and yoga.

On September 16 the centre was opened in Albemarle Road, Beckenham, by former iceskating Olympic gold medallist Jayne Torvill, who is a vice president for the charity.

Co-owner Claire Dunphy said: “We are delighted to be able to work in the local community not just on a commercial basis but in order to make a difference locally by working with children.”
