A BEACONSFIELD woman is competing to be Sainsbury's best cook at the NEC in Birmingham today.
Following the regional heats Sue Papworth made it through to the final of ‘The Big Cook-Off’ - a competition challenging Sainsbury's staff to add a dash of culinary innovation to their favourite dish.
Some of Britain’s top chefs will judge the dishes, including Oliver Thomas and Russ Brown of Manchester restaurants The Lowry and Opus One.
She said: “It’s nerve-wracking to be in the final with everyone able to taste my food but I’m looking forward to showing what I can do!”
A host of assistants will be following the contestants recipes so that four thousand Sainsbury's staff will get to sample each entry and vote for their favourite dish.
Almost 250 employees entered the competition and the winner will receive the culinary experience of a lifetime when they are given the chance to spend a day cooking in a top restaurant of their choice.
