Redbridge businesses save £100K fighting crime with police and the council


REDBRIDGE businesses have saved themselves a packet by teaming up with police and the council to help fight crime.

Members of Redbridge Businesses Against Crime saved more than £50,000 in 2007 and over £52,000 in 2008 through crime prevention and the recovery of stolen goods.

The organisation, which comprises of businesses from around the borough, shares information between themselves, similar organisations and the police.

These sums are peanuts compared to the losses from crimes that are not prevented, let alone the incalculable costs caused by crime detering business investment.
