THE DAUGHTER of a South Woodford pastor is set for stardom after landing a leading role in a hit Disney Channel show.

Naomi Scott, 16, from Clayhall, whose father Chris Scott runs the Bridge Church, in Maybank Road, South Woodford, will star as the central characters' best friend in the second series of‘Life Bites.’

The first series of the show aired on the Disney Channel in 2008 and attracted over two million viewers to its comedy sketch show formula, documenting the everyday adventures of a brother and sister and their relationships with family and friends.

Naomi said: “When I heard that I’d be joining the cast of ‘Life Bites,’ I was thrilled.

“The character I play is called Megan and she has a great enthusiasm for life and sees the positive in everything, so it’s a real joy to play her.”

The talented teenager was first discovered when she performed ‘Killing Me Softly’ at an Alpha Night attended by ex-Eternal singer Kelle Bryan, who was so impressed with Naomi’s performance that she signed her to her new entertainments agency immediately.

She will also star along side two British newcomers, Jeremy Irvine and Connor Panayi, as well as Childrens' BAFTA nominated Brad Kavanagh.

The show is working with several award-winning comedy writers, including Richard Preddy, who was involved with ‘Green Wing,’ 'The Fast Show' and ‘Smack The Pony.’ Joining him is also Gary Lawson and John Phelps, who have together written 'My Family,' 'Tracey Beaker,' and 'Birds of a Feather.'

Naomi said: “I’ll definitely be tuning in to Disney Channel with the rest of my family when the show airs.”

You can catch the new season on weekends on the channel from Saturday July 11 at 10.25am
