Changes to two bus routes have come along at once.
Following work with Transport for London, the 490, which runs between Heathrow Terminal 5 and Manor Circus, Richmond, will now be diverted at Richmond Circus to terminate at Pools on the Park, providing new links for bus users to the leisure centre.
At the same time the H37 - linking Hounslow and Richmond station - will be extended to terminate at Manor Circus.
Earlier this month, changes to the 490’s service were recognised with a highly commended award in the “projects under £5m” category in the Institute of Civil Engineers’ annual Thames Valley awards - the only scheme in London to receive a nod.
The move was part of Richmond Council’s campaign to get on a bus to get fit.
Council cabinet member for transport, Councillor David Trigg said: “The improved links mean people living along the route through Richmond and further afield can now get to Pools on the Park easily, giving them an extra incentive to keep fit and make use of these great swimming facilities which the council provides.”
