A PHOTOGRAPHER plans to raise money for the hospice that cared for his dying daughters by compiling a charity portrait album.

When Peter and Rachel Griffith's children Misha and Natalie were three years old they were diagnosed with Late Infantile Batten Disease, a terminal illness.

As their conditions got worse they received care at the Helen and Douglas House hospice in Oxford.

Rachel said: “I still remember our very first impressions, the sense of peace and acceptance as we walked through the doors was tangible; a sanctuary where we could be a family again, even if just for a few hours.”

Misha died in 2002 aged seven and Natalie died a year later just short of her sixth birthday.

Now Peter, who runs a photography business in Waddesdon, is looking for 250 children to appear in a photo album, with the hopes of raising £10,000 from the scheme.

He said: “We have been humbled by the love and care shown to us at Helen and Douglas House and have always looked at ways in which we could give back, even if just a little.

“We will never be able to say thanks enough, but at least this might help.”

Money raised at the sittings will be donated to the hospice.
