COUNCIL officials have been told they face a further wait to find out if mobile phone giant Orange has found an alternative site for the controversial Foxes Piece mast.
In October 2008 the communications company was granted permission to build an antenna at the junction of Little Marlow Road and Foxes Piece - close to the primary school - after Wycombe District Council failed to "explicitly refuse their application."
Residents, particularly concerned over possible health hazards for schoolchildren, wrote to council to object in their hundreds.
Since then the council has been in discussions with Orange to try to find an alternative location.
Wycombe District Council spokesman Jeff Willmore said: “Orange have written to us confirming that they have completed the fieldwork testing which examined the performance of a number of possible alternatives to their preferred site at Foxes Piece.
“The next stage involves further evaluation and consideration of the results and we understand this is likely to take several weeks.”
