CONNOISSEURS were invited to sample Spanish wines and traditional paella at a tasting event hosted by St Albans-based Flagship Wines last week.
Held at Freddie's Brasserie in Adelaide Street, St Albans on Tuesday, July 8, the evening featured wines from such Spanish regions as Roija, Toro and Ribeiro del Duero.
The special guest at the evening was sales director for Bodegas Riojanas in Roija, Spain, Mr Phil Ainsworth.
Flagship wines director Julia Jenkins said: "Phil talked about the wines as everyone tasted them.
"There was a dry white Roija and a sweet dessert wine and a wide range of excellent quality reds, all of which were well received."
"We often hold similar events for our customers throughout the year, as well as tastings for groups of friends, school PTAs and corporate events."
Flagship Wines has been based in Rowan Close, St Albans, for two years and offers a free delivery service within 20 miles of the city.
