Easter Sunday has just wrapped up, and around the world, people have all shared the holiday spirit in different ways. But why is Easter so important?

Easter is especially important for Christians. It marks the Holy Week and commemorates the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead. Christians believe that Jesus died on the cross on Good Friday. Then, on the third day, which is Easter Sunday, he rose from the dead. Now, believers celebrate Easter every year in order to remember this.

Special church services take place on Easter Sunday to celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ. Christians often go there to celebrate their culture and religion.

But Easter is not only for religious people! Everyone can join in with the Easter celebrations! Last month and this month, Easter decorations can be spotted everywhere. People are decorating their houses with items to do with Easter, shops are selling Easter eggs and people are even decorating their local post boxes with Easter related things! Many people also like to decorate their Easter eggs. People dye eggs in vibrant colours and often decorate them with designs or stickers. Children might also go on egg hunts where they look for hidden Easter eggs. Easter is also a time for families to come together and share a big meal. Sharing a special meal is a way for loved ones to bond and celebrate the holiday together, and it is a great opportunity for people to take time out of their busy lives to spend time with family and friends.
