Patricia Kauth says she was, "totally gobsmacked to open the paper and see the photograph on Hampton Primary School Nostalgia June 6."

It was a double surprise for Mrs Kauth, née Pollard as she had only the day before been talking about the photograph- which was taken at the end of the summer term in 1958 in the Rhododendron Walk at Bushy Park.

"I am the little girl kneeling far left. Amy Compton is the girl with glasses, left and someone who was not in the photograph was Gill Winn. Unfortunately, Angela Bird was killed in a horse riding accident 30 years ago", recalled Patricia who lived with her parents and brother Anthony in Broad Lane.

She continued: "I was 11 at the time. There were five classes, each of 40 children because of the baby boom years."

Patricia went on to Twickenham County and then into banking. She met and married Eric Kauth who was also at the school but didn't know him as he was older than her. She did know his two younger brothers.

Patricia is in contact with others in her year which she is pretty sure was Class 1 whose teacher was Mr Young. "Perhaps he was taking the picture. He worked as a lay preacher with Tolworth Methodists and went on to Teddington Boys School in Broom Road, where my brother in law was taught by him", said Pat.

The Kauth family run Albert's Music shop in Heath Road which has been trading since 1952.
