Artwork made from clay and rubbish in the style of Vincent Van Gogh attracted record crowds to an annual schools' art show last week.

The Borehamwood schools' art show for five days until Monday at the Village Hall in Shenley Road.

Sponsored this year by Elstree and Borehamwood Rotary Club, the show has been running for ten years and allows children of all ages to get involved in art and express themselves through different mediums.

The materials used to create the artwork ranged from clay animation to rubbish, with Vincent Van Gogh being one of the many inspirations.

Rotary member David Clout said: "It went extremely well. The quality was absolutely excellent and I would say we had record crowds.

"The schools and the children really have adopted it as their show."

The proposed redevelopment of the Village Hall has raised concerns over the location of next year's art show.

Mr Clout said: "It was lovely to be able to use it for one more year."
