A huge car fire which sparked 20 999 calls broke out in Eltham in the early hours of the morning.

It happened at around 3.40am in Arsenal Road on Sunday (January 29).

The fire was under control by around 4.40am that morning.

A spokesperson for London Fire Brigade said: "Firefighters tackled a car fire on Arsenal Road in Eltham on January 29.

"The Brigade's 999 Control Officers received approximately 20 calls about the fire.

"The Brigade was called at 0339 and the fire was under control by 0438. A crew from Eltham Fire Station attended the scene."
