A working mum and entrepreneur who grew up in Watford has been short-listed in the national mother@work awards.

Lilach Bullock runs her own Hemel Hempstead-based business, asklilach, and has been shortlisted for the Best Mumpreneur award at the Downing Street ceremony in June.

The award recognises working mothers who have started, and now run, their own successful business.

This is the fourth year of the awards and Lilach is one of three to be short-listed for this category.

Prime Minister's wife, Sarah Brown, president of Piggybank Kids, is hoping to attend the event.

Denise Tyler, founder and editor of mother@work, said: "These awards were set up four years ago to literally lead by example. We hope that in acknowledging the best practices in the workplace today, with respect to working mothers, we can show others how family friendly policies need not be to the detriment of business."
