A SPECIALIST centre which offers care for terminally ill people was given a boost when fund-raisers visited with a cheque and some tea.
A total of £343 was raised at a special event for The Margaret Centre held at The Plough Inn, Wood Street, Walthamstow, just before Christmas.
Local bands played for free and one anonymous punter walked in and gave a generous £30 donation.
Russ Chandler, who organised the event, joined promoter Dave Hughes to hand over the cheque.
They also brought a selection of teas and coffees for the centre's users. The Margaret Centre is at Whipps Cross University Hospital and cares for a variety of residential patients.
