Since September of this academic year, a variety of ensembles in Wilson's School have been preparing for a Charity Concert, set to take place on the 1st December.

In an assembly delivered by some Year 12s delivered last week, it was announced that the school was launching a new initiative to reignite the charitable spirit that was sparked by the late Mrs. Kamaljit Gill, who had been so dedicated to her voluntary work.

The charity chosen this year was Centrepoint - an organisation which offers support to homeless young people - and all funds raised by the concert will go towards this cause.

Some of the musical groups involved include: Senior Orchestra - performing 'Night On The Bare Mountain' by Mussorgsky and 'Conga del Fuego Nuevo' by Arturo Marquez ; Senior Strings - performing Polivistian Dance by Igor; Brass Ensemble - performing 'Pastimes with Good Company' ; Senior Wind Band - performing 'Mary Poppins'; and Wind Octet - performing 'Parosstia'.

The ensembles have been overseen by Mrs. Burton (the head of the Music Department) and Dr. Clayden;  they have all been working hard in order to provide a wonderful night of music to begin the month of  December.

The musical element of the school is sure to flourish with the upcoming Spring and Summer Concerts in the New Year.
