Update: Northern Line delays after passenger illness and security alert

The Northern Line is experiencing severe delays after a two people were hurt at two different stations.

Delays were reported to the service at 8.26 this morning after a man was taken ill after hitting his head at a platform at Tooting Bec station at 8am.

More delays were caused after a woman hit her head while on the Tube at Balham station at around 8.40am.

Eyewitnesses reported lines of commuters snaking out of Colliers Wood Tube during rush hour.

The line was further disrupted after Leicester Square station was closed while firefighters carried out security checks.

Leicester Square has since been reopened.

And an earlier security alert at Elephant & Castle is also causing disruption.
