Residents have been showing off their talents at this year's Greenwich in Bloom awards.

The Mayor of Greenwich, Cllr Christine Grice and Deputy Mayor, Cllr Mick Hayes, attended the presentation ceremony on September 21, where the competition sponsor, Coolings Garden Centre gave a talk.

The competition rewards residents whose beautiful gardens, window boxes and hanging baskets bring colour to the borough.

Greenwich also celebrated success in the annual London in Bloom competition, picking up two silver gilt awards and a gold award.

One in the city category and the other in the large park category for Well Hall Pleasance.

Councillor Miranda Williams, Cabinet Member for Culture, Leisure and the Third Sector said: “Congratulations to all the award winners and participants in this year’s Greenwich in Bloom. It’s very encouraging to see residents taking such pride in their gardens, working tirelessly to create a greener, more pleasant place for us to live.

“I hope the beautiful entries we’ve seen this summer encourage even more residents to dazzle us with their displays in next year’s competition.”
