Croxfest

Croxfest is a yearly music festival in Croxley Green held on The Green. It is free for all to attend – enjoy a varied line-up of acts in a family-friendly atmosphere. The event includes local music and is a great day out to attend and support local talent. The event also helps raise money for local charities through donations.

Bushey Museum Silver Anniversary

On 28 October 1993 Bushey Museum opened in Rudolph Road. Thanks in large part to the work, energy and enthusiasm of a dedicated body of volunteers it has thrived over the last 25 years. Today the Museum is established as an important resource nationally and internationally and yet maintains its local roots and history. A new exhibition at the Museum celebrates this silver anniversary, featuring some of the artworks that were on display and artefacts that were in the collection when the Museum opened in 1993.

Great War Walk

This two hour walk is organised by Abbots Langley Local History Society and Abbots Langley's Heritage Lottery funded Great War Commemoration Project "Back to the Front". In response to many requests the Project is repeating it's May 2018 War Walk. This Walk will include new areas of the village not previously covered. This is a free event. Meet at the Causeway Car Park in the village centre. Refreshments available at the end of the Walk.

Swanvesta Social Club

Come along to Cassiobury Park for a jam-packed summer season of free live shows. Sunday’s performance is from Swanvesta Social Club. The Swanvestas blend Anglo-Latin percussion and melodic patterns to create a unique party sound. They mix Cuban folk songs, classic pop songs and originals in a vibrant, exciting way.

Rock ‘n’ Roll Paradise

Rock 'n' Roll Paradise returns to the UK's theatres for the ninth successive year but in a new and exciting format. For the first time ever the show's producers are not disclosing who will be performing at each show, but they are promising that no two performances will be the same, and each show will be crammed full with the country's best tributes to rock 'n' roll stars, performing the very best songs ever written and supported by the explosively dynamic Paradise Band. Amongst those 'appearing' will be Gene Vincent, Buddy Holly, Jerry Lee Lewis, Brenda Lee, Roy Orbison, Johnny Cash, Connie Francis, The Everly Brothers and even the king himself, Elvis. Spitfire (PG)

A chance to see this documentary film prior to general release. Credited with changing the course of world history, this is the story of the Spitfire, told personally in the words of the last-surviving combat veterans. With breath-taking aerial footage from the world’s top aviation photographer John Dibbs and digitally re-mastered archive footage from the tumultuous days of the 1940s, when her power in the skies was unrivalled, all combined with a specially commissioned score by composer Chris Roe and an incredible soundscape of the famous Merlin engine, which makes this a striking and poignant film.

Fire Station Open Day

Come and visit the only fire-related museum in Hertfordshire and see the history of fire-fighting from the early days. The museum has two 19th century hand manual fire pumps, a 1937 Leyland pump-escape fire engine, and a 1942 Dennis trailer pump used during the Second World War. There are fire-fighters uniforms that can be tried on and fire-fighting equipment that can be handled (including early breathing apparatus sets). The Fire Station is also open today and there will be plenty of activities for all the family to enjoy.

An Evening with Lucy Worsley

Join Chorleywood Bookshop and historian, author and TV presenter Lucy Worsley for a night celebrating one of our longest reigning monarchs. Open Studio

Children are welcome at Carol Roger's Open Studio. Visitors can enjoy tea and homemade cakes as they view the art and watch painting demonstrations in the upstairs studio. There is a ceramic and fun wire sculpture in the pretty cottage garden and a special trail for children, too.

Sarratt Horticultural Society Autumn Show

There will be the usual wide range of exhibits with the vegetable and fruit classes always keenly contested and it is hoped that the very hot summer weather has not intervened too much. The classes for cookery and flower arranging always encourage a lot of entries with arts and crafts and photography also very popular. In the children’s classes, decorated pebble and chocolate chip cookies are amongst the subjects at this show.
