The best friend of legendary musician David Bowie spoke at an event marking 60 years since the star joined Bromley Technical School.
Now known as Ravens Wood School, a tribute was held there on Monday (August 27) to reflect on Bowie’s legacy.
George Underwood spoke about his youth with Bowie, who he had been close friends with since childhood.
A tribute band called The Thin White Duke played on stage before being joined by Bowie’s art teacher, Mr Frampton.
Roger Bahari, who organised the event, told News Shopper beforehand how people were travelling long distances to celebrate Bowie’s life, with some venturing from Italy.
Bowie, who died in 2016 aged 69, joined Bromley Tech School in 1958 where he formed his first band.
