Two men have been arrested after an armed robbery at Carphone Warehouse in Beckenham.
Armed police were called to Beckenham High Street at 9.10 this morning after receiving reports an armed robbery was "in progress."
The two men ran off in different directions from the store as police arrived, but officers managed to catch them both and recovered a gun from a bag dropped in Fairfield Road.
A Met Police spokesman confirmed: "Police were called at 09:10hrs to a commercial premises on High Street, Beckenham, following reports of an armed robbery in progress.
"Officers, NPAS, LAS and specialist firearms officers attended as there were reports that a firearm had been seen.
"The two suspects ran from the store in different directions and officers pursued both of them.
"One of the suspects left two bags on Fairfield road. One bag contained a firearm.
"No reported injuries.
"Two men were arrested and taken to a south London police station."
